An opportunity has arisen for someone to take over the role of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to Barton Parish Council.
Barton Parish Council is an active council at the heart of the local community and is seeking to appoint a multi-skilled, flexible and enthusiastic person to take on the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. Candidates must be capable of working with councillors, the public, a wide range of outside bodies; sometimes in challenging situations, as well as knowledge of administration, taking minutes, basic accounting, be computer literate and able to work to deadlines. This role would be Ideal for those wanting new experiences, to build their CV and to contribute to the Community.
The post is part time (8 hours per week including some evening meetings and events) and will be a home based position. The Parish Clerk attends Parish Council meetings, which are held every other month (except for July & August) on the second Wednesday of the month, commencing at 7.30pm at Barton Village Hall. The Parish Clerk attends other meetings as required. Hours of work will be flexible and subject to changing workload and the parish council meetings’ schedule.
The salary scale will be LC1 SCP range 7-10 (£24,294 - £25,545) per annum PRO RATA depending on experience.
